Two people influenced my design philosophy the most…
In architecture school at Ohio State University, one of my most influential mentors + teachers was Paul Young - a huge leader in his field and in the world. He explained how to design for people, we must first understand their worldview. Looking at the many cultural, economic and technological influences of an era help us to understand the world. When we feel empathy and care about the people we design for, design becomes a service.
Another mentor of mine was the chair of my graduate program at NYU, and a revolutionary in tech: Red Burns. She showed us to put people first (technology is secondary), put our full hearts into the process of collaboration, and to be fearless with experimentation.

I work across platforms (iOS, Android, Web) and across industries (finance, media, entertainment, health, the arts and education). As the former President of Toastmasters International (at Bloomberg) I had the opportunity to coach and mentor dozens of professionals, and have lectured and mentored students at schools including NYU and Columbia University.
